What is DMCA?

DMCA stands for Digital Millennium Copyright Act. DMCA is the United States Digital Rights Management (DRM) law which is implemented on October 28, 1998, by the President of United States whose name is Bill Clinton. 


DMCA is mainly implemented for blogger so that other blogger can't copy your post that means if you think that your blog post is being copied then you can claim upon that blogger which is doing copy your blog post. The aim of DMCA is to prevent your blog post from being copied.

What are the benefits of DMCA?

There are various benefits of DMCA which is given below.
  • You can prevent your blog content from being copied.
  • If you think that your blog post is being copied then you can claim upon that blogger by the DMCA rule.
  • You can keep your position on the internet.


How to claim when your post be copied?

If you think that your blog post is being copied then you can claim upon the blogger which is doing copy your blog post. You can claim only when your whole blog post has been copied. You can contact and warn that person whose copied your post before claiming on Google. You can read more about rules (click here). You can't claim without using DMCA certificate on the blog. If you want to prevent your blog post from being copied then you must have to add DMCA badge in your blog.



How to add DMCA badge on Blog?

Most of the bloggers ask me that is DMCA badge available for all platform like blogger, Wordpress, Tumbler? Yes, DMCA badge is available for all blogging platform like Blogger, Wordpress, and Tumbler. It provides free service as well as paid service. In paid service, more types of badges are available and more features are available. If you want to add DMCA badge free of cost then follow the below steps.
  • First of all, open DMCA official website (click here for open DMCA).
  • Then a sign-up form will be opened in front of you. In this sign-up form, fill your details like first name, last name, company name and Email.

  • Next, click on the Submit button. If you want to create paid DMCA service then click on the Go Pro option but I am going to tell about free service.
  • Now, many badges will be shown in front of you. Select any one badge which is you like and then select code from the right side area. If badges are not showing and login form is showing then login through your email and password (password is sent to your email inbox by DMCA).

  • Now open a new tab and open your blogger account and then click on the Layout option besides blogger dashboard.
  • Now click on the Add Widget option where you want to add this badge.
  • Next, a pop-up box will be opened in front of you. In this pop-up box, click on the HTML/JavaScript option and then paste the copied cost in the second box and then click on the Save option.

  • Next, click on the Save Arrangement option.
